Proud to Support The Foodbank Network

“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”

This Christmas, Carbon is delighted to be supporting The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network as part of our festive charitable giving.

The network consists of 428 foodbanks across the UK, working to combat poverty and hunger in our communities.

To give some idea of the need: in 2017/18, The Foodbank Network provided 1,332,952 three-day emergency food supplies and support to UK people in crisis. Of these, 484,026 went to children.

So, with thoughts turning to seasonal giving and indulgence, the offices of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth set up three on-site food collection points and also took cash donations.

The result is several big boxes of much-needed supplies shortly to be delivered by staff to the foodbanks. A big thank you to all involved.

We all know that Christmas can be a difficult time for many, especially for those living on a tight budget, with seasonal pressures and increased fuel bills, but we also know that the need does not stop there…

We are therefore holding two more, smaller events in December to raise more funds for foodbank supplies for the New Year. If you pop by our offices to find Rudolph jumpers, tinsel earrings and raised glasses (or should that be teacups?) you’ll know what we are doing.
