Aspiring Girls at the Euro Championships

Over the summer the Carbon-sponsored Scotland under-18 girls hockey team (called ‘Aspiring Girls’ by Scottish Hockey) took part in the Euro Championships in Germany. The competition drew the top teams including Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

The girls performed well, particularly as the new coaching team had only been in place for a few weeks, coming seventh out of nine teams. The girls also achieved a number of other objectives and finished with strong winning performances in the last two matches against Austria and Ireland.

What was clear was the commitment, determination and sheer hard work the girls put in over the 10 days, and how the group came together as a team.

It has been a privilege for Carbon to be associated with the team during 2023, and to see their success in tournaments in Belgium and Germany, and we wish the girls all the best for the future!
