Why is money important to you?

Carbon Financial Partners Investment Director, Barry O’Neill, poses this interesting question in his latest article in the Press & Journal.

Barry points out that many people keep working and amassing money simply because they don’t fully appreciate how much they need to do the things they want.  He also points out that this approach could be creating a potentially sizeable and unnecessary inheritance tax liability.

The sensible approach is to define what it is you want to do and then calculate how much you need to be able to achieve your goals – “the number”, and when you have established this your saving will take on a whole new meaning.

This clarity of purpose means you no longer have to work simply to make money and the chance to spend your precious time with family and friends doing the things you really want becomes a reality.

Barry’s advice is to clearly define your goals, establish ‘the number’, and then create a meaningful financial plan.
