Nicola Coates Joins the Carbon Team

Carbon Financial Partners, a leading Independent Financial Planning and investment advice firm, has now recruited one of Scotland’s top Financial Planners. Chartered and Certified Financial Planner, Nicola Coates, has joined from Turcan Connell.

Her arrival is another feather in the cap of Carbon, which has just been officially recognised as one of the top Chartered Financial Planning firms in the UK, being one of only four finalists in contention for the Chartered Financial Planner of the Year Award (Corporate) at the Personal Finance Society Conference in Birmingham. Another significant honour for Carbon in 2013 was being named Investment Adviser of the Year in the Professional Adviser Awards held in London.

Carbon’s Managing Director, Gordon Wilson said: “I am delighted that Nicola has decided to become part of our team. “Not only is she one of the most qualified Financial Planners in the UK, but she has experience of working with clients who have very complex financial circumstances. She is both a Chartered Financial Planner with the Personal Finance Society and a Certified Financial Planner with the Institute of Financial Planning. Nicola is also Branch Chairwoman for
the Institute of Financial Planning in Scotland. Carbon has built one of the very best teams of Financial Planners in the UK, and our awards so far this year are testament to that. Nicola adds further strength to the team in the area of inter-generational planning for families and Inheritance Tax.

Before joining Carbon, Nicola was Family Office Manager with Turcan Connell Asset Management in Edinburgh. She moved to Scotland in 2008 from Leeds. Nicola said: “Carbon and I share the same vision for Financial Planning – its approach to clients, investment proposition and reputation in the marketplace is excellent. I have joined a company where I will be able to add to and learn from the wealth of experience of people who are already there.”
Nicola is based at Carbon’s Perth office, but will work out of Edinburgh and Aberdeen offices as required.
