Kilt Walk complete and one step closer to an Arctic expedition!

We are delighted to report that 10 of us successfully completed the Touch of Tartan Perth Half Marathon Kilted Walk – and happily we are all blister free!

In doing so, we have raised valuable funds for The Polar Academy.

The walk started at Perth Aerodrome on Saturday morning following the same route as the Perth Half Marathon which encompasses a mixture of paths, pavements, roads and trails, and finally ending up at the city’s North Inch.   As you will see from the photos, it was a fun event enjoyed by everyone, and all for a great cause.

The Polar Academy unlocks the vast potential within the ‘invisible and forgotten’ young adults in our education system and turns them into positive role models for their community and families. Each year the Polar Academy will inspire and motivate thousands of young adults, positively demonstrating that by “inspiration through exploration” anybody can achieve their absolute potential.  We are delighted to be able to support their very worthwhile organisation.

It’s not too late to lend your support to The Polar Academy, you can still donate to our JustGiving page here.  We would like to thank everyone who has already supported us, and welcome anyone who now wishes to make a donation.

Finally, we have a special mention for Stephen Rowntree, he ran the whole course in a very respectable time, and for Carbon’s Liz Paterson who very ably organised the whole day for us.
