Giving back this Christmas...

You may remember last year we took part in Mission Christmas, a national campaign delivered by Cash for Kids to ensure that children living in deprivation and poverty wake up to a present on Christmas morning.

If you’ve visited our Edinburgh or Perth offices recently, you may have seen the large gift collection boxes in our reception areas, as we are taking part again this year and we invite you to help us to collect as many children’s gifts as possible.

Last year the response we had from staff and clients was overwhelming; our collection boxes filled up so quickly that we had to store the overflow in another room!

It’s hard to believe that there are thousands of children and young people living in deprivation and poverty in the UK who will wake up to no presents on Christmas, which is why we want to help do something about it.

Both our Perth and Edinburgh offices will be acting as drop off points where new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years can be handed in. The gifts can be up to the value of £15, however all gifts are very much appreciated. All gifts will be distributed locally as there are over 13,000 children who need our support. All gifts need to be in by Monday 14th December so that they can be delivered in time for Christmas.

As well as collecting gifts, we are also aiming to raise funds for other charities by taking part in ITV’s Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day On Friday 18th December. Not only will our staff wear their Christmas jumpers with pride, but we will be encouraging clients to make their woollies worthy by donating £5 for anyone who visits or posts a photo of their Christmas Jumper as well. All proceeds go to the Text Santa partnered charities: MacMillan Cancer Support, Make a Wish Foundation and Save the Children.
