Carbon Social Cycle Club Event 3: Perthshire Loop - 1 August 2015

The third Carbon Social Cycle Club ride of the year, on the morning of 1 August, heads to Perthshire for a fantastic 60 mile route which while challenging at times takes in some amazing scenery. We might even get some sunshine for the occasion (not guaranteed!) We hope you can join us.

The ride starts at 9am from the Carbon Perth office on Atholl Place and after a brief cycle through the town we head out West and then sharply South on quiet B roads towards Auchterarder.

From Auchterarder we head West passing by Gleneagles and then make our way North for the last major climb of the day, followed by a fantastic descent into Comrie where we will divert to the Tullybannocher café for a well earned coffee and cake stop. From Comrie it’s a fairly easy going ride East and back into Perth.

Future Events

Event 4: 12 September – Five Ferries Classic

The final trip of the year is the Five Ferries Classic. It’s a full day out, starting at Wemyss Bay at about 7.30 in the morning and returning about 12 hours later, and in the meantime covering about 75 miles of cycling, in between five ferry journeys, and over two testing hills (towards Lochranza and out of Tighnabruaich).
